Flaw update/Chris Volz solo [Mar. 1st, 2007|11:59 pm]
Flaw got back recently. Basically all the members during Through The Eyes are together with the exception of Ryan (who is in Black Market Hero with ex-Flaw member Micah and ex-40 Below Summer members Max and Joey). They (Flaw) had Van Avery playing bass for them for a while but apparently that didn't work out. There's a video of what they're doing now (the video was recorded when Van was working with them). Rumor has it Alex (who actually used to play for Flaw once and was one of the bassists for one of Chris Volz's other projects: Five Bolt Main) will be playing bass for Flaw. But as of now nothing is official.

In other news, Chris Volz is apparently doing a solo project now with Rockridge (Five Bolt Main label). Here's what's been said:

Hey All -

The fans deserve to know the news first - please read the press release below. Thanks again for your patience and continued support.

March 1, 2007

Chris Volz, formerly of FLAW and the recently-disbanded Five.Bolt.Main, is currently recording and will be releasing his debut solo album on Rock Ridge Music this fall. (Album title and track list will be announced soon once recording is finished.) Manning the production side of things are a team including Matt Chiaravalle (Kittie, Crossbreed, Warren Zevon) and Rock Ridge Music principals. Earlier this month, the members of Five.Bolt.Main parted ways and Volz began work on his solo record.

Says Rock Ridge Music principal Jason Spiewak of the recording process: "Working with Volz has been awesome. The songs that he's working on are deeply personal. The music and lyrics speak about his life, his experiences, his connection to music."

Volz himself is very excited about the new material. "We've got a great team working on the record, and it's giving me a chance to fully express myself in a solo capacity," Volz says. "I've put a lot of time and effort into the material for this album, and it's based on stuff I've worked on for years. The songs are somewhat of a growth process for me as an artist, but I'm looking forward to finishing it and getting it out there for people to hear it."

Volz plans to tour in support of the album later this year, but in the meantime, he has lined up a handful of shows with his former band, FLAW, with whom he'll be hitting the Midwest in March.
